Intermediate Quilting: Open Studio

Quilts and quiltmaking have acquired new dimensions from functional bed quilts to be also seen as artistic expressions. This class will offer projects and guidance in exploring more depth and information in designing the art quilt using traditional and/or contemporary techniques. Students will select and complete their own quilt project, including wallhangings, table runners, bed quilts or garments. The instructor will provide individual support in fabric, color, and texture selections. The application of Composition and Design elements will also be emphasized. New quilting/piecing, and surface design techniques will be modeled periodically. Students will work at their own pace. Prior class in basic/beginning quilting/sewing skills is required.
