Class covers the three main mediums: acrylic, watercolor and oil.  Students are encouraged to choose their own subjects in the medium they select.   I refrain from correcting a student’s work for them, but demonstrate how they could improve it.

I give periodic mini demos on various aspects of painting, such as the color wheel, color theory, and composition; and handouts are often provided.  I have an extensive collection of art technique and art theory publications to use for reference.   To encourage the joy of creativity, I assign students one fun project to do at home and we share the results in class.
